Clare Nash Architecture (CNA) is based in Brackley and Oxford covering South Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire.
The practice makes 'inspiring places, smarter spaces and happier faces' through their intelligent sustainable projects, which range from a simple barn conversion to a community housing scheme. They take inspiration from vernacular buildings and focus on people, site, climate, location, and context. They use sustainable and beautiful materials to produce buildings that sit well in their surroundings and suit the people who reside in them.
In 2016, Clare’s first book 'Contemporary Vernacular Design: How British Housing Can Rediscover its Soul' was published. It contains 25 high quality and low energy housing case studies from the UK and abroad. Learning from vernacular or traditional architecture and applying those inherently sustainable technologies to modern housing design. This was partly a mission to improve housing standards in the UK. Clare didn’t just interview designers, but also housing associations, homeowners and tenants to get realistic and useful feedback about home quality.
Clare Nash Architecture specialises in eco-design and the practice can offer practical advice. Their strong environmental approach includes landscaping and garden design. The young and friendly team work remotely, using co-working spaces for meetings. This innovative model is fully inclusive and provides an excellent service to customers.
